Another post? Feeling inspired to share lately, and when I want to share something, I'm gonna! We spent today relaxing and taking it easy after a LONNNGGG CMA Fest week here in Nashville! We had 3 shows of our own, along with Tony playing guitar for 3 other shows- 2 of which I went with him and was just the guitar player's wife again;) It's fun once and while just going and watching him do his thing and crushing on him from the audience like the old days... hehe.
This two piece set is perfect for summer! And ladies who aren't straight up down like the models like me... it looks cute on us too! I love how high waisted these pants are. If you've been following me for a while, you know I have a scar down my stomach, and am always self conscious about it showing. This outfit allows me to partake in the crop top look, but feel covered enough. And ladies.... it's only $20 right now.... GO GO GO!
Hope you all had a great weekend, and your week started out with an awesome Monday! Let's take on this week and all of its blessings! Going to link the exact sandals, similar sunnies, and exact hat below!
It's been sooo long since I've done a blog post. I appreciate whomever has stuck around and understood me taking a step back from posting, posting, posting. I was starting to put so much pressure on myself. I love blogging, but I don't want to get caught up in trying to keep up with others that do this full time. I can't, and it's not my only thing... so I have to remind myself of that and just put out the content I want to share with you all, and not worry about what other bloggers are doing:)
If you follow Tony & I on Instagram, then you've seen this affordable makeup I shared. But just in case you don't, I wanted to make sure I posted these finds up here on the blog too!
So, I heard some makeup artists I follow online, talk about this Wet N Wild Photofocus Foundation . Honestly, I wondered if it was just given to them or something to talk about online. So decided I needed to try it out myself! My skin is oily and also prone to breakouts. So using a foundation that is under $5, I was nervous that it would irritate my skin or just leave me super shiny after an hour. But y'all... this stuff works great! Worked great on my skin and made my pores even appear smaller. Definitely try it... and why not? It's sooo affordable!
While also at the store, I saw this Wet N Wild Mattifying Powder . I have a setting powder that I use from NYX that I love that is about $10, but when I saw this powder for $4.99 I thought I wonder if that works just as good? How I still love my powder from NYX, I have to say this cheaper powder did not disappoint! It worked great, and I'm going to keep it in my purse for touch-ups when we leave the house!
The last affordable find I wanted to share, was this Elf Cosmetics Cream Blush in 'Pear Perfection.' I was looking for a blush to last longer for when we have shows or events and this one is great! It stayed on well, and I LOVE the color! It also goes with my spray tan! Haha. Perfect summer color! And for $3, you can't go wrong!
Well, just wanted to share some affordable goodies I tested for y'all! I love makeup just as much as the next girl and trying new looks, but my budget doesn't always allow for a trip to Sephora. Enjoy! And if you try any of these out, take a pic & tag me on Instagram... I wanna see!! @pierceavemusic
Love you guys,
The Boho look, I don't do it all of the time, because some of it I just can't pull off. I wish I could! I love looking at the boho style! I love the simplicity of it and the colors being toned down, to let the design of the clothing just speak. When I saw this skirt online at kittynashville.com (this exact skirt linked below) I knew I had to have it! Keeping with the boho-western feel of the skirt, I decided to pair it with a light chambray top that I had in my closet from #TJMaxx a few years ago. Felt a statement necklace was necessary here to make the outfit sparkle a bit. (I picked up this necklace at some boutique here in town like 5 years ago, but the #BaubleBar one I've linked below is great similar option!) Some might think fringe on your skirt, shoes, and bag might be a little much, but I say do it! It kind of just ties everything together. Just wanted to keep a neutral pattern going with tan shoes & bag to let the top and necklace just pop!
I don't have any linked below, but another great type of top to go with this skirt would be a vintage t-shirt tucked in or tied to the side! I kept my hair simple and back, but some curls and big volume would be really pretty too! If you don't already have any boho pieces in your wardrobe, I'd say why not?! I've linked some stuff below, to help you achieve this look if you want to try it! Happy shopping ladies!

Hey guys, happy Monday!!
Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine wasn't bad, a part from losing my voice. I think it's a little bit of sinus infection. Thankfully I only felt achy and feverish Friday. Since then, it's just been the soar throat and no voice. For me though being a singer, I feel kind of lost without my voice. I take for granted how easy it is for me to sing along with anything in pitch.
Hopefully the warmer weather comes back to stay..... in the meantime, I'm going to keep buying cute summer outfits to keep me in the warm mood! And one way to get more for my buck is to shop at Shein. My last order from them, I got 7 different items for under $60! Definitely one of my go-to's!
I absolutely love this red dress. It's soft, flowly, kind of silky feeling, and so comfy. Perfect for day or night, or even the beach! Great length, I never felt uncomfortable or like I was showing too much. And this adorable scarf! The pattern is so pretty and such good quality for the price! So many uses: around your neck like I've shown, use it to tie around your messy bun in your hair, tie it on the handle of your favorite bag, or even tie it around your wrist to make a cute bracelet!
My bag pictured here... I picked up at Ross last week, but the similar bag I've linked below gives the same look for a great price! I've also included the similar hat I've been talking about on Instagram, along with similar wedges below!
Be sure to check out these affordable items & more by clicking the links! Happy shopping!!
It's FRI-YAY we made it!!!!
Hope it was an amazing week for you all. It is crazy how amazing a spray tan can make you feel lol. I highly suggest it! I swear it puts me in a better mood. We don't have any huge plans this weekend, just playing at Barlines downtown tonight with our band and church on Sunday. Next weekend we will be headed to Indiana to be with my family for Easter, I cannot wait! I haven't seen my parents since Thanksgiving, I miss them so much!
I couldn't wait to show you guys how this adorable top from Nadia Rima Boutique (Use code: PIERCE20 for a discount) looked on! It's so soft & comfy. And with spring & summer upon us, the flowers on it are just so cute & makes you feel so girly. I decided to pair it with some longer denim cutoffs from American Eagle. (My shorts are from last year, but I will link a similar mom cut pair below!)
To top off this girly look, I put on my new shades from Nora NYC. I know some of you are saying, "Umm, girl those shades are a little extra..." Well, yea they are! lol. But you know what, I love them! I had to have them... why you ask? Because I have been one of the biggest Jessica Simpson fans out there since 2002.... and well, she owns either this pair, or a pair just like them. I saw them on on her Instagram! So yep... I bought 'em! :) I'm not even sorry about it. If you want to be extra with me, I've got a code for you to get 10% off these or any style from #NoraNYC . Use code: NewShades at checkout!
Hope you all have an amazing weekend & find some time to relax and do something you really enjoy!!
Love to you all,
Hope you're having a great week! Today's post is all about the number one question I get asked by everyone (including my family & friends lol): "We're planning a trip to Nashville, what should we do or not miss while visiting?" I don't mind this question, I'm happy to help anyone coming to town, but I must confess... I get a bit of anxiety trying to come up with a list lol. Of course the nightlife of Broadway is always a fun attraction if you've never been here, but there's definitely more to Nashville than just Broadway! Sometimes things Tony & I might consider fun or "cool" may not seem that way to everyone. So I try to give good options while answering this question. It also doesn't help that Nashville is now the mini New York City in terms of growing and new openings of "the new thing" or "it places," but I will give it my best shot today!

Caviar and Bananas - This is such a great Brunch/Lunch/Coffee spot! It's cafeteria style, where you go to each station and pick what you want, but you don't mind... bc the atmosphere and decor (down to the tile spelling out: "Yay Wine!") in here is so cute. It's located in a convenient location in Midtown.
The Pharmacy Nashville - Located in the trendy part of town East Nashville, this burger & old style soda parlor is too cute. With their picnic tables & string lights in their beer garden area, this casual spot will make you feel right at home! Get an amazing burger from their many different choices, or select something delicious off of their Wurstchen menu. Complete your meal with an old fashioned soda, or if it's that time of day, select a drink choice from their craft beer or wine selections!
Bella Napoli Pizzeria - This Italian restaurant located right near Music Row, is more than just amazing, authentic Italian pizza... it has amazing pastas, salads, and desserts as well! This isn't on the list of most people's favorites in Nashville, but this is by far the best Italian restaurant in town! We've been going there since we first discovered it on Valentine's Day in 2011. I have also celebrated my last two birthdays there, bc Italian is my favorite & Bella Napoli is the best!
Milk & Honey - This is still pretty new to town, but it has quickly become one of my favorites! Located in The Gulch area on 11th Avenue, it has a VERY wide selection of foods serving breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Get a yummy salad or sandwich with a lavender honey latte for lunch, or Cali Grilled Chicken with a glass of rose` for dinner. There's also great little shops in The Gulch area to check out if you decide to go for lunch!
The Southern - When people ask Tony & I where to find the best steak dinner in Nashville, it's hands down The Southern! My favorite entree is 'The Belle,' an 8 oz. filet mignon, with white cheddar mac & cheese. It's conveniently located only a couple blocks away from the bar scene on Broadway, and is the perfect spot for your fancy splurge meal or special occasion!
Vinnie Louise on 12 South - One of my favorite local stores! The prices are so affordable, and they have such a cute selection. I love stopping into the 12 South location, bc there is tons to check out on this street with even more restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, a little farmer's market. (Note: Vinnie Louise also has an East Nashville location as well!)
3rd and Lindsley - Though many great music shows flow through here, this music venue is on my favorites list bc of one particular western-swing band that happens to play here almost every Monday... The Time Jumpers. This entire band is made up of Grammy Award winning world-class musicians, one band member being Vince Gill. The cover fee to get in is $25 a person, where you then are seated at a table either on the first floor or balcony area. They have great food and drinks available to enjoy during the show as you listen to the amazing harmonies and players of this band! (If you plan on wanting to see The Time Jumpers on a Monday night, I suggest purchasing your tickets online earlier that day to avoid not getting in at all. However, your advanced ticket purchase does not guarantee your seating place. So if you want a good seat, plan to get there EARLY and enjoy dinner and drinks while you wait for the show to start! Doors open at 5pm & the show starts at 8pm!)
The Grand Ole Opry - Last but not least... If you are coming to Nashville, I cannot stress enough the amazing experience that is the Opry! It's just so special, and one of the last true traditions that this town has left. With so much growth and change that this town is undergoing, The Grand Ole Opry has this rich, beautiful history of country music that is dear to my heart. There's just nothing like it, and if you visit, it needs to be something you experience for yourself!
Well guys, I hope this helps some of you wanting to come visit this wonderful Music City! And if any of you come and try out any of my suggestions, please email me or message me on Instagram which was your favorite. Also, check out @thenashvilleguide on Instagram for more suggestions and Nashville inspiration! I literally direct all of my family & friends coming to visit to them, to choose where they want to go and check out while they are here! :)
Love you all & have a great Tuesday,
*Note: This post was not sponsored.
We're into another week, and spring is finally approaching! (Well, the weather here in Nashville has taken a little step backwards) but the flowers and trees are trying to bloom, and it's beautiful! Spring means another holiday upon us... Easter! And that means another outfit....oh darn, another excuse for us to find another new cute dress, right girls?!
I recently purchased this cute floral number from Asos and I have to say I love it! It's a cute print and so comfortable. For Easter, you want to have a Spring felt pattern, but I feel like you want to go with a flowy look, rather than tight. I don't know about you guys, but any holiday in my family means food... so I want to be comfortable.
I've linked a few different options below, along with three different styles of nude heels that will go with any of these options. And if you don't have a nude heel yet in your wardrobe, it is a staple piece that can go with so many outfit combos. Definitely worth spending your $$ on! It's easy...just click on the photo to shop & it will take you there!
Happy shopping guys, & hope you have a great week,
We're almost there, the end of another week. Hope it's been a good one!
When I saw this skirt in the store I thought, impractical.....but so pretty! Every girl needs a little princess/Sex and the City moment available in her closet at all times. I chose to make it look casual with a tied up camo button-up shirt and a tank. But you have to have the cute heels to tie it altogether. If you don't want to go the buttoned shirt route, pair the skirt with a cute short blazer with one of the tanks below; or even a cute vintage tee tied up with a black leather jacket thrown on!
Don't be afraid girls, have your Carrie moment and work it!
Get the look:
Happy Tuesday guys!!
Here in Nashville today the sun is shining, it's 60 degrees, and I woke up with a grateful heart. I hope for each of you, your Tuesday is off to a good start as well! And if not, hopefully this post will help inspire you and enable you to hit the REFRESH button on today and start again!
I think in today's social media world, the pressure is on. For you to look a certain way, for your achievements to be at a certain height, and for your personal life to be at a certain stage at a certain time... we're all looking at our Facebook or Instagram accounts and looking at pictures of our friends or even strangers and thinking, "I wish I had that." What we don't think in that moment is, "What is this person's story... what struggles have they gone through. I wonder what their insecurities are..." We hardly ever think that.... it's all about comparing ourselves to them and listing all of the things in our lives that we're not happy about. Putting ourselves down. Guys, WE HAVE TO STOP THIS!!!!! We have to stop being our worst critics!
Even looking in the mirror, I pick myself a part. My husband Tony & I will be walking out the door to go somewhere, and he will tell me how beautiful I look. You can ask him, my response hardly ever is just receiving the compliment. It's usually along the lines of, "No I'm not." He gets so irritated and frustrated with me. He always says to me, "Hey, that's my wife you're talking about & I don't like it!" We're working on me receiving his compliments and stopping this behavior. I have to break this cycle for myself and my sanity. Even this photo below... I look at it and think, what a pretty photo from our Oregon trip by the water, the sunlight... but what you guys don't know about this photo is, Tony and I had a huge argument from this moment. I asked him to take a photo of me bc the setting was so pretty, but then snapped at him about the angles he was photographing from bc I couldn't stand the way I looked. I was so insecure in this moment that it even caused us to have an argument. It was absurd.
You guys also know my struggle and pressure I put on myself bc I haven't gotten pregnant yet. Something that is beyond out of my control, but it brings me down. And then, as much as people are trying to give advice and help. With all of their suggestions all I hear is, "You're not doing this or that right... you're failing." Friends I went to school with just having their second child, or are already done having children, and me feeling behind because I don't even have one. I have to shake myself from this mindset!! Stop comparing. With this Instagram and blogging world, the thoughts: "My Instagram feed isn't as pretty, my photos aren't as good, I don't look as good as her..." ahhhh it's too much. As of today, I am going to declare to Customize My Feed! In the literal and metaphorical sense... I am no one else but Jaime Pierce. I have my own, individual path and purpose that is unlike anyone else's. I'm going to embrace every little moment, bc God has curated this special path just for me.
Get to "Customizing YOUR Feed" and embrace yourself and your journey! I'm going to leave you with a quote from a blogger that really inspires me:
"There is so much purpose in this hardship and it's making me who I am. It's part of my story and it's developing my character in a deeper way." - Lauren Scruggs Kennedy
Love to you all,
Happy Monday, and the start of another week!! It's around 60 degrees and sunny here in Nashville, couldn't ask for better Monday motivation than that!
Hope you all had a great weekend. I had a great Birthday on Friday! I know people say all of the time, "Oh I feel so blessed," but I really did Friday. On Thursday, I don't know if it was the gloomy, chilly weather, but Thursday I was just down. I couldn't shake myself out of it. I was thinking and reflecting too much on what I DON'T HAVE at 32 yet... and that's not good. I just kept praying under my breath on Thursday when I felt I was going to crack, "God help me be positive. I have so much to be grateful for, I don't want to be down on my Birthday and in a pitty party for myself, help lift me up!" Well, God showed up Friday on my Birthday for sure. It was 80 degrees, sunny, and I just had this boost of positivity that was just bursting out of me Friday. Tony took me to lunch and TJ Maxx and we just had the best day! I felt all of God's grace and He just gave me this immense peace on Friday.
Here's the thing... we all have these tough days. Sometimes, your tough days outweigh your good days that week, and that's OK! It's normal.... What I've come to realize during the tougher weeks is this: when I feel down or confused or weak, God is stirring something up inside of me. He's shaking me for change. Sometimes I have to stand up and do something about it, and sometimes when I'm feeling weak, He's asking me to be still to listen to Him to guide me. To rely on Him and where He's taking me. In our weakest moments, if you open your heart and say "I'm trusting you God that you will make it all ok and you'll help me" I promise you, He will! He wants to help you, and you literally cannot do it on your own. If you do, even if you accomplish what you set out for, you will still be left empty inside. All the money and possessions in this world, will never fill that whole inside of you that belongs to God.
If you're new here, you know Tony and I have been together 8 years and married for 6. And we've really been trying for babies for about a year. We stopped being careful a long time ago even before that. Nothing is happening. We're getting close to that point of if we need to go get checked out by a doctor. But I just don't know if I'm ready to face that if we're told something bad. I'm trying to hold onto my faith that God has a plan and His timing for us will be perfect. My parents were told they would probably never conceive, one in a million chance, and I'm here. So, I'm holding onto that.... that if it's His will, it doesn't matter what the odds are. So, again, I'm leaning into God and trying not to plan myself. Tony and I are just going to continue doing our part very often lol, and I'm just giving it up to the man upstairs. Trying to have total and complete TRUST.
Sorry to get so deep for a Monday, but want you all to know... we all have something heavy on our minds and hearts. But instead of letting it take you over and get you down all of the time, when you're weak, lean into God. Just some advice to combat those Monday blues to help you jumpstart your week on the right track!
With these random summer temps we've been having, I put together this jeans and t-shirt look that's perfect for brunch, casual dinner, or just errands. I love that the Birkenstock look is back! So comfy and cute all at the same time. Get the look by shopping the links above!
Have a great Monday guys... I really care about you all & appreciate you!
Happy Wednesday guys!
Hope you all are having a great week. Well, it's my Birthday week. Ever since I entered my 30's, I kind of get anxious with each birthday that comes. The kind of hold my breath anxious. Like you're hitting the breaks and nothing's happening. Trying to approach 32 with an open heart and see what God has in store!
Well, I never thought I'd jump on this train, but this belt bag trend... a.k.a. "the new fanny pack" is too cute not to! It's perfect for a concert or festival... or let's be honest, it's just cute! I'm all focused on the belt bag and my husband just likes looking at the skirt, haha! Truth is, this patent leather trend seems to be here to stay. I'm seeing it more and more! Be daring, try a patent skirt like this or some patent pants for your next date or night out with the girls! And don't forget to shop the look from the links above!
Happy Friday guys!
Cannot believe it is Friday again. Where did this week go?? I feel like it was just Friday. Hope you all had a great Valentine's or Galentine's as well!! Did you drink wine and eat lots of chocolate like I did?! I got breakfast in bed, taken out to lunch, and then I made a balsamic chicken and noodles dinner topped with Tony's favorite chocolate cupcakes for dessert! It was a nice day.
A part from the holiday, I hope you all take a moment to hug your loved ones a little tighter this week. Florida's tragic events break my heart. What those families are going through... I can't take it anymore. There has to be something we can all agree on that can be done to keep these shootings from occurring. I pray we can all come to an agreement soon.
On to fashion talk... this past week was New York Fashion Week and I was so jealous. I was glued to my phone on Instagram, watching all the celebrities and bloggers Insta stories in awe! One common theme I'm seeing more of this season, and was always too scared to try, is mixing patterns. I mean, I came from the day where you didn't wear white after Labor Day (lame); you didn't wear a blue shirt with a black belt, you wore brown... (yes kids, I grew up in the stone ages I know!! The horror!) I love how all those silly rules are thrown out the window now, and fashion can just be what you want it to be. An expression of you or how you're feeling that day.
This silky, floral blazer... I just love it! You guys, I picked this up on SALE at H&M for $15!! (I can't find it online, but if you want this exact one, just go to your local H&M... it might still be there!) I love it. I have only worn it out once, but I got so many compliments! I decided to try this mixed pattern fashion risk and pair my blazer with joggers and some leopard heels even to boot! This outfit is so comfortable, yet when you add the heels and a cute handbag, it instantly feels dressy and put together.
Give this mixed pattern fashion statement a try! It's fun to pair things together that you wouldn't normally think go together, but somehow they end up looking so good pieced together. It's fashion art, and I love it! I've linked a bunch of similar items below, if you want to try out this look. Have fun with your fashion guys, & take some fashion risks this weekend!!

Happy Tuesday Guys!
Hope your week is going good! We're doing pretty well over here in the Pierce household.
When we went to church this past Sunday it was a great message as always, but this one in particular hit home. It was about spreading hope not hype. I love this blog! It's fun and rewarding for me. Let's be honest... I didn't start this to get rich & I'm not! lol. I don't have a big budget to throw into this. I do my own website, my own photos, it's just me. How I love this blog, it isn't my only passion. Tony and I have spent almost our entire lives doing music, and we are still very much investing in our country duo, Pierce Avenue. That in itself takes just about all the money we have after we pay our bills. So for me to have any money to invest into this blog, is going to be slim to none. I try to work with what I have and do the best I can. The fact that I'm even doing it and taking the time, is my investment in me. And that's OK. I'm investing my time into something that I enjoy doing, but I will not let it dictate my happiness. Just as Tony and I have to strive every single day in this music town, to not let the music business dictate our happiness. We do music for us, bc that's all we know. We're not going to pretend to be someone else, just so we fit the mold of what's on the radio right now. It's probably why we're not further a long lol, but at least we know who we are. It's not the easier way either. Everywhere you turn, there's someone going "You need to be this, or you need to do that. " Just do you. And I'm not bashing those on the radio now. There are so many great artists out there on country radio right now, and the music they're making they absolutely love, and that is great! It shows. We just kind of do old school country, and that is ok too. It's not popular right now, but it's who we are. So we'll keep on keeping on, and continue making music that we enjoy!
I know some bloggers/influencers out there are doing really well, and that's awesome. They work hard for it & invest all of their time into it. Maybe I'll look back one day and be shocked, but I don't want that to be the only reason that drives me. This is something I enjoy doing, believe it or not. (And I'm not a stranger to something I enjoy not being the most popular or profitable, hello I've been a country singer since I was 11 lol.) But like any other woman or person for that matter in this social media driven society, I find myself comparing myself to others. I think: there are so many bloggers out there, so many even in Nashville alone, what do I have to offer? I'm not as pretty, my content isn't as good, it's never going to work. But you know what? I just need to do me. I can't afford a lot of expensive labels, I'm not a mom yet, I'm not famous nor friends with anyone famous, I'm just Jaime. All I can do is be me. And I love putting content together to share with you all, especially when I've found cute stuff for good deals! It's just fun. Let's be honest, shopping is my sport and hobby, I love it. And finding a cute item at the cheapest price, I feel like I'm winning haha!
This post is just a post I wanted to do to share some new products I've been using that I love! I don't know if they'll work on everyone, but they're working great for me and are affordable for the everyday girl. So I just wanted to share in case you guys are looking for some new stuff to try!
-The Vital Collagen Peptides Protein- I'm loving! I just put a scoop in my coffee every morning and it dissolves so fast, and you can't even taste it. It's been making my hair and nails grow like crazy! (Even my eyebrows!)
-The Nurse Jamie Cleanser is awesome! It leaves my skin so soft. Even my husband felt my face after I washed it when it brushed up against him, he asked what I've been using!
-The Dermaclara serum I'm still using on my scar on my stomach and it's working wonders!
- The Nuskin Lash Grow is great! You put it on your lashes like mascara and they grow fast! And it's under $40! If you're interested, click the link above and email me for how to order!
- This Collagen + Retinol Serum is great. It really reduces fine lines, and I'm obsessed.
-This Nexxus Hairspray is my new fav! I got hooked on the little bottle you can get at Target for traveling. It leaves my hair looking shiny, curls in place, and easy to brush out if I change my mind. It's my favorite now and the only one I use.
-This hair gloss I use for my extensions, and I love it! I use clip-ins like all of the time. My hair is thin, and this helps with volume for me. This gloss keeps the ends of my extensions looking shiny and healthy! If you use extensions, I recommend this affordable product!
Hope this helps any of you looking for some new stuff to try. If you try any, comment under my photo on Instagram and let me know what you tried and how it worked! And remember, you just do you. Stay in your lane and try not to let others influence your happiness. No one's life is all sunshine like the Instagram and blog photos show. The social media anxiety epidemic is real! Let's try to not judge and bash one another for how they're doing something. If you don't like someone, or their account is causing you to judge yourself, simply "unfollow." Life is too short!
Thanks for reading as always, love y'all!
Happy Friday!! The weekend is here, we made it! It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Nashville (and a little warmer ahhh!) Just what I need to recharge a little bit from this cold, gloomy winter.
I was out shopping here in Mount Juliet, TN the other day at our local TJ Maxx (my fav), and I spotted this ADORABLE pink and white button up top! It is so soft and cute! It actually is even made to tie up at the bottom. With it being a little on the chilly side still, I decided to style it with this black sweater I had in my closet from a couple years ago for a little something extra. Paired it with my Jessica Simpson jeggings, some black booties, this faux fur scarf, and this cute faux fur wristlet I found for $3 at Target on clearance! These Guess sunnies were a bit of a splurge, but my birthday is this month, so I decided to treat myself!
I felt put together and stylish on Tony and I's date night the other night, when he took me to Carrabba's & to see the movie, The Post (it was sooo good!) With Valentine's Day around the corner, this Velvet Heart pink and white striped top is so festive, yet I'm going to love it for any occasion. I can't find the exact one online (go check out your local TJ Maxx) so I linked a similar one below in case, along with all the other similar items to complete this look! (So don't forget to scroll down⬇️ to shop all the similar items to get this look!!)
Thanks so much for reading as always & cheers to the weekend!!
Happy Hump Day guys!!
Hope everyone's week is going great! Our's isn't bad over here, just wish it would warm up already, I am kind of done with winter and feeling cold. Anytime I don't have to leave the house right now, I am at home hibernating under blankets to stay warm and cozy.
I've been LOVING this cap I got from Posh here in Nashville a couple months ago! I live in it between beanies and good hair days:) Wanted to style a little more dressy look to go with it, rather than just show it with jeans. It's the type of hat you can actually dress up! It's a must-have staple ladies!! This girl does not, nor wants to, wash this hair everyday- and dry shampoo can only take me so far.
I've linked a couple similar hats below, you NEED this hat in your wardrobe! And make sure if you visit Nashville, to check out Posh!
Have a great rest of the week & thanks for reading as always!!
Love you guys,
Well hello guys!
Here we are in the middle of another week & almost in February! I cannot believe how fast January flew by! I love February not only for Valentine's Day, but it's also my Birthday month... I know, rough go for Tony lol. He loves me anyways.
Well those that know me well, know I am not the most organized person. I keep our house pretty clean, but when it comes to being on time or organizing plans- eh not so much. I'm a throw-it-together last minute kind of girl. I'm trying to be better!! I actually started thinking about Valentine's Day early this year for once.
Tony and I have been married for 6 Valentine's & together for 8. We don't go over the top for V-Day. I just need some sweet words of validation in a card, give me some flowers, & some attention and I'm pretty set. As for Tony, just that "attention" thing and he is good to go haha!
Sometimes we, well I, make plans for us to have dinner out... and sometimes it's nice to just be home and low key. Either way, a little Valentine's home decor is a must & just fun! I don't go crazy, but you can find some really cute decor on a budget. The L-O-V-E sign, heart plate, and heart confetti are all from Walmart . The heart bowl is from Target . And all the goodies are from Hickory Farms , the perfect way to shop for all of your party or special occasion needs! It was so easy. I just went to www.hickoryfarms.com and looked over the website & picked out what I wanted, & they just packaged it altogether and shipped it right to my door. I didn't have to go to the grocery store and go from isle to isle to put it all together, Hickory Farms did it for me! How cute is it to have a little snack plate ready for your man on Valentine's Day to make him feel a little pampered and thought of?! (I'm going to be honest...the chocolate covered pretzels were more for me, HAHA!) Add some lit candles and some love songs playing in the background, and you've got your Valentine's ambiance all set!
Hope this helps spark some Valentine's Day inspiration for you whether it's for your spouse, your date, or your Galentine's.... get creative & just have fun!! Links below!
Hope your week is off to a great start! Last night (in a lengthy lol) Insta story, I revealed something you might not know about me. If you didn't see the Insta story- I have a long scar down my stomach right above my belly button all the way down. About 8 years ago at age 24, my stomach area was starting to protrude as if I was pregnant. Knowing I was not pregnant, at first I thought I was just gaining weight, until I noticed it was only growing in my stomach area.
Every woman knows how she gains weight. Mine goes every where lol, but especially in my love handles, butt, and thighs. This was different. It seemed I was wasting away everywhere else in my body except my stomach area. I think at that time, it was the skinniest my arms had ever been in my life! I went from doctor to doctor and at first was told I had a bladder issue, it was awful. Finally a doctor in Indiana realized what I had inside of me. A massive ovarian cyst that had attached itself to my left ovary and needed to be removed right away before it could burst. Had it burst inside of me, it could have killed me or at the very least, I would have been extremely sick with all the toxins in my body. (The cyst weighed almost 4 lbs! It was taking up every inch inside my body.) Thankfully with the doctor cutting me in half, he removed it (along with my left ovary it was attached to) without a hiccup. Everything went great and my recovery was smooth as well. I did walk around bent over like a granny for about 2 months and couldn't drive or work in this time, but I made an easy, full recovery. You wouldn't know I went through this unless you saw the long scar on my stomach.
Now I know I am not the only woman or person out there for that matter, that has something that makes them feel insecure. Whether it's a scar, stretch marks, or whatever, NO ONE is without something that bothers them... KNOW that! I hope this doesn't sound vain or stupid, I know there are so many people out there that have or go through so much worse! I am so grateful that my situation was not worse than it was, because it easily could have been! I was also so lucky the cyst was not cancerous! But just as any human, this scar bothers me.
When I found Dermaclara online, I thought this is worth looking into! If it's not hundreds of dollars, it could be a great option for me to help me feel a little less insecure I thought. Treatments for scars in doctors offices can cost anywhere from $200-$500, but this at-home treatment is so affordable! I'm so excited to try it! And if you or anyone you know is like me with a scar or stretch mark insecurity, I encourage you to give this a try with me! There is nothing wrong with trying to do something about an insecurity you have, to help your confidence and help you be a better you! When I'm more confident, I am a better wife, friend, and daughter. You have to take care of you and not put guilt on yourself for wanting fix something!
Here are some before pics below, and I will be updating you guys with my results, I cannot wait!!
If you'd like to try it for yourself, click here and use the code: DERM20 at checkout for 20% off!!
Love to you all,
Hope you guys have had a great week! I wanted to share my new obsession... this Coconut Matcha Latte recipe! I am a coffee addict... like I LOVE my coffee. With the invention of the Keurig, it makes my addiction all the more easier. Any time of day, it's so easy to feed the coffee want. So I'm trying to be more conscious of my coffee in take.
I've always heard of Matcha lattes, but I was super skeptical. The green powder looked all gross and couldn't possibly taste good... I was wrong! Mixed with these ingredients, it's actually a nice, hot treat that feeds my coffee addict self. I tweaked what I found online & created this combo that I love! And BONUS, it's actually also great for speeding up your metabolism; it has a high concentration of antioxidants which are great for your skin; and how matcha has the same amount of caffeine as other types of teas, it also has an amino acid in it called L-theanine that creates calmness and brain power to focus and concentrate.
Here's how I make it:
Step 1: Boil 1/4 cup of water. In the bottom of a mug, add 1/4-1/2 tsp of Matcha green tea powder, then add the hot water to the mug with the matcha & stir
Step 2: Boil/heat to liking, 1 cup of unsweetened Almond Milk
Step 3: Add 1 tbsp of honey & 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil to the milk
Step 4: Froth milk and add-ins with a frother or pour milk and add-ins into blender to froth
Step 5: Pour the milk mixture over the matcha into the mug
Step 6: Add apple pie spice for topping & enjoy!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!! We sure did with family time in Texas and all the Mexican food & Christmas sweets we could get our hands on... which brings me to the soup cleanse topic.
If you're like me, you're feeling those extra couple or more lb's and it's not a great feeling. You feel bloated and just uncomfortable. Time to start the new year off with a 3-Day Soup Cleanse! (If you're feeling like you could manage a 5 or 7 day one, go for it, and go you! I encourage you to do so if you're feeling committed!) I however, am going to ease into getting back on track with just a 3-day one. I honestly don't think I could stick to more right now just coming off the holidays... not enough will power here lol.
I discovered this brand all on my own one day at Target and I'm so glad I did! Kitchen22 has 5 different all natural soups they've created and store in glass bottles. They are so affordable (under $6 a bottle!) and I love that I can pick them up whenever I want at Target and I don't have to spend a lot of $$ on a big box order.
If you're like me, we always see the latest diet trends celebrities are trying... and the soup cleanse has been one of the newest ones I've seen. #Kitchen22 's soups are so healthy and will give you all the veggies and fruits your body is craving after all the junk over the holidays. And the best part is... you won't feel hungry! Since Tony will not partake in this cleanse lol, I can get lunch and dinner out of one bottle. (If I need to have a different soup at dinner then lunch, I alternate so I don't feel like I'm forcing myself to eat the same one twice in one day.)
And to help cleanse your body, add drinking a cup of hot green tea or earl grey tea with some almond milk, and add a shot of Bragg Organic Apple Cider Vinegar & Honey . (Adding the apple cider vinegar to your tea will help you get the benefits without having to taste it... bc let's face it, it does not taste good, but the benefits are SO GOOD for your body as it helps clean your system out!)
The Butternut Squash and the Potato Cauliflower are my favorite soups (obviously lol) and taste really good. But click on the #Kitchen22 link above and check out all of their soups, to see which ones you want to try!
Good luck guys! And if you try any of the soups, email me or let me know how you like them & how you felt after your cleanse.
Cheers to 2018 & making it a GREAT year🍾🥂🎉
Hope you're having a great week & getting all of your stuff done! Just want to remind all of you what my husband told me last night.... don't get too stressed about getting everything done. Take a deep breath & just let it roll! Us women tend to put so much pressure on ourselves during the holidays. Enjoy the moments with your loved ones... time goes so fast!
Last week on our Insta-story, I ran you through a holiday make-up look I did and showed you guys how I apply everything and what I used.
